William Edward Lee, 86, of Live Oak County, passed away on October 6, 2026.
William was born on September 21, 1940, to Eda Mary Poenisch and Hal Lee. He married Linda Lee on March 9, 1961, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
William devoted much of his life to agriculture and raising cattle, work that brought him great pride and joy. He enjoyed caring for his livestock and working the land, finding fulfillment in the simple, hardworking life he built. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors and dedication to the life he cherished. He was also a faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eda Mary Poenisch and Hal Lee; one sister, Eda Margaret Lee Cole; three brothers, Hal Lee, Robert Lee and James Clyde Lee; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Faith Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Richard (Nancy) Lee and David (Cathy) Lee; grandsons, Brady (Kelsi) Lee, Quentin (Rachel) Lee, Morgan (Courtney) Lee and Aaron (Patricia) Lee; Fourteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Jo.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 9, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, Texas.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, at Lakeview Baptist Church in Mathis, Texas.
Burial will follow at the George West Cemetery in George West.
Pallbearers will be Brady Lee, Quentin Lee, Morgan Lee, Aaron Lee, Butch Harris and Tony Kaase.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam Davila, Chase Hollan, Jacob Guerra, Jenna Lee, Ava Lee, Emma Lee, Deandra Cates, Miranda Davila, Gabriella Guerra, Presli Lee, Kiera Lee, Pedro Cantu III and Xander Cantu.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your church or a charity of your choice in William’s honor.
