Wallace Stanley Tegge, 73, of Beeville, TX, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026.

He was a dedicated math tutor at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas, where he shared his love for numbers and learning with many students. Beyond his academic career, Wallace generously served as a volunteer firefighter in Magnolia Beach, Texas, demonstrating his commitment to helping his community. He also found joy in music, playing the keyboard with the praise band at First United Methodist Church in Beeville, as well as being very active in the Emmaus community, embracing his faith through participation and leadership.

Wallace had a passion for sailing, which brought him much happiness and a sense of freedom throughout his life.

He is survived by a loving family who will cherish his memory. His sister, Beverly (Richard) Tegge Selby of Farmers Branch, Texas, stands alongside numerous nieces and nephews and their families who remember him fondly.

Among them are Kyle (Crissy) Roach and children, Lilliana and Hayden C. Roach of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Kendra (Dale) House of Denton, Texas, with son Dalton (Ariel) House and their child, Colton House of Argyle, Texas; Kendall (Joshua) Duncan, with children Levi, Hadley, and Elia of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Chance (Sarah) House, with daughter Lyla of Brownsville, Texas; Amber Carreon Blair and her children, Tyler Beckwith, Ashley Beckwith, Lily Whitman and her son, Joey Taylor, of South Dakota; Chris (Melonie) Carreon and their children, Watson Carreon, Becksley Carreon, Colton Schwenneker, Zachary Carreon, and Zoey Carreon, along with her daughter, Saylor Glynn of Des Moines, Iowa; William C. Selby and his family, including daughter Brittany (Patrick) Bethany and their children, Charlie Mae and Noah Rae; daughter Gianna Selby; sons Dominick and Marcus Selby; as well as Trenton (Cassandra) Selby and their daughter, Coralye of Kingsville, Texas; and James M. Selby of Atlanta, Georgia.

Wallace was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Stanley and Imogene Tegge, and his sister, Lillian Tegge Carreon.

A funeral service celebrating Wallace's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, located at 106 East Cleveland Street, in Beeville, Texas.

Wallace Stanley Tegge will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him through his teaching, community service, music, and love of sailing. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
