Victoria (Garza) Cabazos

Victoria (Garza) Cabazos passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, June 17, 2024, at her home in Beeville, Texas, at the age of 88.

Victoria was born in Beeville on June 22, 1935, to Francisco and Manuela (Benavides) Garza. She married Nicolas Cabazos, Sr. on May 21, 1956.

Victoria's life was a testament to love, laughter, and cherished moments with her family. Her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was not just a duty, but a source of immense pride and joy. Her love for her children was boundless, and its echoes will forever resonate in their hearts.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her parents, husband, and three sisters who preceded her: Dominga Cuevas, Sofia Walters, and Miquela Saldivar.

Victoria leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by those she held dear. She is survived by her three children: Pricella (Ernie) Ramon, Nicolas (Dawn) Cabazos Jr., and Ludie (Michael) Tyran; her four beloved grandchildren: Ernest James Ramon, Albert Ramon, Kelsea Tyran, and Brianna Cabazos; two precious great-grandchildren: Zayla and Josiah Cabazos; two sisters: Anita Espericueta and Gloria (Fred) Maldonado; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a Rosary recited at 11:30 a.m. and the funeral Mass celebration at 12 o’clock. Father R.J. Regalado officiated.

Burial followed at Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan, where she was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Nick.

Pallbearers were Ernest James Ramon, Albert Ramon, Jesse Cavazos, Zachary Espericueta, Daniel Cuellar and Blaine Gilbert.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Victoria’s nephews, Frank Cuevas Sr., Jesse Castillo, Roland Espericueta, Jim Saldivar and Michael Maldonado.
