Verna Woodward

Verna Lee Woodward, 88, passed away on July 8, 2017. She was born on January 3, 1929, to Benjamin Sterling and Roxie Irene (Stallcup) Edge in Taylor, Texas. She married Charles M. Woodward on September 17, 1946, in Three Rivers, Texas. Verna was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers. She was a secretary for the Three Rivers Elementary School until her retirement. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her sons, Alan (Laura) Woodward and Charles Lee Woodward; grandchildren, Jolee Cornelius, Brian Woodward, Noah Woodward, Amy Woodward and Hailey Woodward; and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Bluhm, Brian Woodward, Noah Woodward, Doug Culli, Tim Stroleny and Steve Stapleton.
