Verdie Rutherford

Verdie Rutherford, born April 2, 1918, passed away peacefully in Round Rock, Texas on August 16, 2020.

Verdie and her family moved by horse drawn wagon to South Texas when she was four years old. Verdie lived in Calliham, Texas until she moved to Alaska in 1970 to be near her grown children. Verdie moved back to Texas in 1983.

Verdie was a devoted Baptist, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughters, Patricia June and Bernice Mae; grandson, Terry; two sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by her son, Cleveland (wife Marsha); grandchildren, Joe E. Pearce, Will C. Rutherford, Dale R. Rutherford and Shauna L. Rutherford; 10 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, at Three Rivers Cemetery in Three Rivers, Texas.
