Sylvia (Muniz) Garcia, 90, a beloved wife mother, grandmother, and sister was called to rest with our Heavenly Father on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.
Syvia was born August 29, 1935, in Three Rivers, Texas to Graciano Muniz Sr. & Beatrice (Galvan) Muniz. On May 27, 1955, she married the love of her life Alejandro Garcia Sr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She served on the Alter Society and was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was known for her steadfast faith and love she provided to her family, especially her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Graciano Muniz Sr. & Beatrice (Galvan) Muniz; her husband, Alejandro Garcia Sr.; brothers, Salvador (Eloisa) Muniz, Raynaldo “Ray” Muniz, and Graciano (Josie) Muniz Jr.; sisters, Alice Moreno and Beatrice Muniz; one grandson, Everisto Eloy Trevino.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Crawley of Baytown; three sons, Alejandro (Melissa) Garcia Jr., David Garcia both of Three Rivers, and Bobby (Stephanie) Garcia of Celina; two daughters, Joann (Tom) Stanly of Pleasanton and Lisa (Mike) Ruiz of Three Rivers; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Friday, July 24, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a rosary to be recited at 7 o'clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Pena, Dan Moreno, Dennis Ortiz, Tyler Garcia, Gary Muniz, and Martin Tanguma.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Muniz and Michael Moreno.
