Solomon Fredrick Ford, known simply as Fred to his many friends and family passed away on Saturday, October 03, 2026, at the age of 99. Fred was born on March 04, 1927, in Beeville, Texas to the late Claude W. Ford and Emma Ada A. Hillen. He lived in Clareville, Texas, a small community in the Western side of Bee County, his entire life.
Sergeant Ford, a proud veteran of World War II, grew up during the Great Depression and enlisting into the United States Army at the young age of 18. He served with honor, bravely deployed to defend his country and proudly earning a WWII Victory Medal and Honorable Service Medal. Fred carried the lessons of camaraderie and sacrifice from his service throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Claude Leonard Ford, Robert Lee Ford and sisters Ada Irene Rothlisberger, Ella Lucille Coffman and Bertha Millie "Betty" Harrison; and his companion Joan Parsley of Sinton, Texas.
Fred is survived by nephews Reggie Harrison, Alan Rothlisberger, and Bradley Coffman and nieces Pamela Rothlisberger Metting and Stacie Coffman Jameson and many more family members that will forever cherish his stories, wisdom, and enduring legacy.
A graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery at 11 o’clock on Monday, October 12, 2026, with Pastor Don Taylor officiating and full military honors.
Fred, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the family you loved so well.
