Sandra Berry

Sandra Gayle (Shipley) Berry, affectionately known as Gayle, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure.

Gayle was born June 27, 1938, in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama to Helen Gould (Patterson) Shipley and Garland Cash Shipley. She graduated from Knoxville, Tennessee in 1956 and attended Cosmetology School, Huntsville, Alabama in 1971. Gayle resided in Saint Simons Island Georgia, Durham, North Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee prior to moving to Beeville, Texas. Gayle enjoyed traveling and decorating. Paris, France was her favorite destination and learned conversational French. Her sense of humor and love of cooking and fine dining with friends and family made her a favorite to all.

She married James Berry in 1957 and remarried James Berry on April 19, 1969, in Mississippi to renew their vows.

Preceding her in death are parents, Garland Shipley and Helen Shipley; daughter, Davida Lynn Berry, husband, James S. Berry; and sister, Sarah Lynn Shipley.

Survivors are her sons, Garland and wife, Michelle Berry and Scott and wife, Rebecca Berry; numerous grandchildren, Reed Berry, Anna Berry and fiancée, Nick Rodriguez and Austin and wife, Faith Berry, Casey and wife, Jessica Berry, Joshua Berry; and great-grandchildren, Ivory Berry, James Berry, Ella Berry and Zachary Berry.
