Sanjuana "Janie" (Ruiz) Caruso, born on April 10, 1962, in Mathis, Texas, to Ramon and Santos Ball, departed this world unexpectedly on January 26, 2025. She was 62. Her sudden passing at a young age has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Janie married James Michael "Jimbo” Caruso and was a beloved wife and mother whose nurturing spirit and love for her family defined her life. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and five cats. Sitting outside and listening to Tejano music brought her much joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Ruiz; a daughter, Jessica Aguilar who passed on February 16, 2013; her husband, Jimbo Caruso on February 1, 2020; and a sister, Esperanza “Hope” Ruiz.
Janie was the beloved daughter of Santos Ball of George West and mother of Isabel Aguilar of Rowlett, Santos “Bubba” Aguilar of Arlington and Vince Aguilar of George West. Also left behind to cherish fond memories are her sisters, Anita Torres and Aracelia Ruiz; and a brother, Raymond Ruiz. She cherished her 10 grandchildren, Gildardo Aguilar Reyes Jr., Virginia Aguilar Reyes, Oscar Aguilar Reyes, Christopher Aguilar Reyes, Annabel Aguilar Reyes, Jaime Aguilar Puente Jr., Marisol Angel Puente, Arcieli Jessica Puente, Olivia Brianna, Celeste Andrea and Bryana Nicole Lopez; and six great-grandchildren, Carolena Mae Aguilar Reyes, Levi Mateo Reyes, Aubrielle Mae Johnson, Gabriel Reyes, Christian Reyes and Julian Reyes.
