Salvador "Pat" Ruiz

Salvador “Pat” Ruiz, 84, of Three Rivers, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Salvador was born November 19, 1938, in Whitsett, Texas to Gadino Ruiz and Lucia (Lujano) Ruiz.

Salvador married the love of his life, Maria Rita Sanchez, on September 18, 1960, in Pawnee and was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked as a butcher for more than 40 years at Churchill’s Grocery Store in Three Rivers and enjoyed hunting and roping in his free time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gadino and Lucia Ruiz; two sisters, Carmen Ruiz and Lupe Martinez; two brothers, Rudy Ruiz and Galindo Ruiz Jr.; and a son, Gilbert Ruiz.

Salvador is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria Rita Ruiz of Three Rivers; a son, Eddie Ruiz of Three Rivers; three brothers, Roberto Ruiz, Joe Ruiz and Mike Ruiz; a sister, Leonor Ruiz; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating.

Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Ruiz, Brodie Ruiz, Louis Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez, Michael Nunez and Larry Ruiz.
