Roy West

Roy E. West, 94, of George West, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Roy was born January 29, 1925 in Mission, Texas, to Zach and Gwendolyn (Harris) West. He married Vivian McCumber on December 12, 1990. He was a drilling superintendent in the oilfield business. He was a member of the Baptist church. Roy loved fishing, drinking coffee and smoking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James West and Billy Wayne West; sister, Peggy Woodall; and a son, Henry "Sacka" Lyssy.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian West of Beeville, formerly of George West; children, Michael (Peggy) Lyssy of George West and Susan (Brian Anderson) Lyssy of Beeville; sisters, Ouida Jo West of Weslaco and Glenda West of California; grandchildren, Amanda (Maria) Lyssy of Corpus Christi, Chris (Victoria) Lyssy of Tuleta, Paige Lyssy of Beeville and Zach Anderson of Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Patton Lyssy of Tuleta and Avery Lyssy and John Michael Lyssy, both of Corpus Christi.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West.

Interment will be private.
