Rogelio Ortiz

Rogelio Ortiz was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 60. He lived in George West, Texas but was from Beeville.

Rogelio was born October 17, 1960 in Three Rivers to Manuela (Ybanez) and Lorenzo Ortiz. He was a 1980 graduate of Three Rivers High School and attended Bee County College. He was employed as a driller in the oilfield industry and more recently as a ranch manager at S-S Ranch near George West.

He enjoyed watching the History Channel, taking care of his animals and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuela and Lorenzo Ortiz; and his eldest sister, Maria Isabel Ortiz.

Survivors include his daughter, Lorena Ortiz; two sisters, Maria Luisa Ortiz and Azalea Ortiz; three brothers, Lorenzo Ortiz Jr., Faustino (Carlotta) Ortiz and Arturo (Anna) Ortiz; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville with Father Richard Gonzales officiating.

Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery in Three Rivers.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Ortiz II, Arturo Ortiz, Faustino Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz, Lorenzo Ortiz III and Rick Ortiz.
