Reese Alan Homeyer 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2026. He was born on December 21, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Reese graduated from Mary Carrol High School in 1962. After graduation he began his career in the Corpus Christi refineries. First as an operator, and then, he trained to become an instrument technician.
Most of Reese's working years were spent in Corpus Christi; he later traveled and worked in Alaska, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Venezuela.
Reese loved the outdoors and enjoyed years of hunting and fishing, while teaching his children and grandchildren the same skills. Throughout that time, often around a campfire, he and the family acquired years of "stories" to be told and retold.
Reese was preceded in death by his parents, E.R and Dora nee Dietz Homeyer; sons: Michael, Edward, and Cary Homeyer; son-in-law Tracy Shelton; brothers-in-law: Tommy Martin, Ricks Brewer and Jack Hermes.
Reese is survived by Bethany, his wife of 40 years. He is also survived by his daughter Tammie Shelton; sons: Reese Jr (Bud) Homeyer (Kathryn), Jeffery Homeyer (Tina); daughter-in-law: Gwen Homeyer; sisters: Carol A. Brewer, JoBeth Phillippe, and Debbie Martin; sisters-in-law, Karen Silver (Rudy), Valerie Hermes, Judy Gatny, Mary Huber (Jim), Celeste Atzman (Jonathan), and brother-in-law, Michael Mann. Reese has 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
This wonderful legacy of Reese will live on through his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Goliad, TX.
