Rebecca “Becky” Garcia

Rebecca “Becky” (Chavez) Garcia, 90, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Sacramento, California.

Rebecca Chavez better known as Becky Garcia was born September 15, 1930 in San Antonio to Raul Chavez Sr. and Librada (Vallejo) Chavez. She was married to Joe A. Garcia Sr. in Beeville in 1949.

Becky was a faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Beeville and St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Antonio. Becky had a caring heart; she was a dedicated and loving nanny and housekeeper to so many children and their families throughout the years.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Librada and Raul Chavez Sr.; her husband, Joe A. Garcia Sr.; brothers, Frank Chavez and Raul Chavez Jr.; sisters, Carmen Wrisley and Sandy McAllister; and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Garcia.

Becky is survived by her children, Mary Jane (Rodolfo) Garza of Sacramento, California, Joe A. Garcia Jr. of Burson, California and Robert (Karen) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; her granddaughter, Julee (Jerry) Meza of Sacramento, California; her sister, Estella Chavez of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Beeville Memorial Park with Deacon Santos Jones officiating.
