Raul C. Aguirre Sr., 89, of Beeville, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, lovingly surrounded by his family.

Raul was born March 20, 1932, in Beeville to Pedro Aguirre and Tomasa (Caballero) Aguirre. He married Amada Garza at Our Lady of Victory in Beeville on July 14, 1956. Raul and Amada spent 62 wonderful years together making memories. He was a man of strong faith and was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Raul attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi; he was an electrician with I.B.E.W. # 278 for 50 years. He served in United States Army Company “E” 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Camp Carson, Colorado. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 11,1954.

After retirement, Raul enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was able to enjoy his grandchildren never missing any extracurricular activities and was able to take many trips including snow skiing to Colorado and New Mexico. He loved horseback riding, entering a rodeo here and there to head a steer for one of his buddies. On quiet afternoons you could find him reading a good old western novel, he had a nice collection of western books, Lonesome Dove was one of his favorites.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Amada G. Aguirre; his parents, Pedro Aguirre and Tomasa (Caballero) Aguirre and a grandson Seth G. Aguirre.

Left to cherish his memories are two sons, Raul (Norma) Aguirre Jr. and Richard (Norie Lyn) Aguirre; two daughters, Roxane Marie (Leo) Casas and Rose Michele (Zeke) Ortiz of Beeville; a brother, Jose (Esther) Aguirre of San Antonio; a sister, Victoria Arenas of Kenedy; five grandsons, Raul (Kayla) Aguirre III, Garrett (Raleigh) Aguirre, Cordell Aguirre of Beeville, Henry Aguirre of Corpus Christi, and Tres Ortiz of Kerrville; four granddaughters, Amber Eloise Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Sara Camille Casas of New Orleans, LA, Ana Claire Casas of College Station, and Felicia Ortiz of Seguin; two great-grandchildren Rayden Aguirre and Alex Aguirre.

Pallbearers will be Raul Aguirre III, Garrett Aguirre, Cordell Aguirre, Henry Aguirre, Tres Ortiz, J.D. Aguirre, Jimmy R. Aguirre and Alfonso Garza.

In Lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations can be made to “Beeville Ladies Night Out” Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville, to help finish our Mammography Suite at our hospital.
