Paul served in the United States Army before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education at Southwest Texas State. Later, he completed his Master of Science degree in the same field of study at Texas A&I University. Paul began his teaching career at San Marcos ISD and Pettus ISD for one year before embarking on a 31-year career at Beeville ISD as an agriculture science teacher.
His excellence in education was recognized with numerous awards, including the Distinguished Teacher Award (Texas Ag Teachers Association), Outstanding Secondary Educator (Texas Ag Workers Award), Soil Conservation Teacher-of-the-Year (Bee County Award), Apple Achievement Award (Beeville ISD), and the Outstanding Service Citation (National Agriculture Educators).

His pinnacle of service, however, was as president of the National Association of Agricultural Educators from 2000 to 2001 and the president of the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas from 1995 to 1996. Additionally, Mr. Jaure made significant contributions as president of the 4-County Agriculture Teacher’s District, Area X Agriculture Teachers Association, and the Beeville Faculty Association for BISD. He was a board member for the Beeville Development Authority, Bee County Livestock Show, and a founding board member of Bee County Western Week. Additionally, he served the United Way and Rotary, and was a representative on the advisory committee for ConocoPhillips.
For 32 years, Mr. Jaure dedicated his service to the Coastal Bend College Board of Trustees. In 2021, Coastal Bend College honored Paul and Sarah Jaure by dedicating the Science building to them, recognizing their enduring legacy and commitment to the importance of education for future generations. Paul's love for people and agriculture was evident in every aspect of his life. In his retirement, Paul immersed himself in farming and ranching, restoring antique cars, traveling, flea marketing, creating floral designs, and spending time with his family.
