Patty Partlow Adair

Patty Partlow Adair’s life of 85 years was lived with grace, beauty, strength, and courage. She was born in Beeville, TX on August 8, 1940 to her parents Doris and Ross Partlow. Patty graduated in 1958 from A.C. Jones High School. She attended what was then called Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, before marrying her beloved husband, Allen (Al) Carter Adair in 1960. Together they shared 38 wonderful years. Patty was a dedicated and loving force within her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Carter, Allison, and Stewart, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren, Connor, Julia, and Brett.

Patty worked over 30 years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beeville, TX. She enjoyed the simple, important things in life-- family, friends, and any kind of dessert. Patty was a faithful Catholic, great friend to many, avid photo-taker, and a big believer of spoiling her grandchildren. She loved the holidays, especially the splendors and spiritual significance of Christmas and Easter. Later in life, Patty moved to San Antonio to be closer to family. She was a member of the St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and the St. Monica Guild. Although she spent the last 20 years of her life in San Antonio, she fondly spoke of Beeville and her friends there and the special place they held in her heart.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents Doris Caldwell Partlow and Thomas Ross Partlow, her husband Al Adair, her brother-in-law Eldrige Marsden Adair and wife Eloise, her son, Stewart Ross Adair, daughter-in-law Cindy Clark Adair, and son-in-law Bruce Cameron Gates.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Ross Partlow Jr. and wife Jane, her son Allen Carter Adair II, her daughter Allison Adair Gates, her daughter-in-law Ydette Adair Cothran, and her grandchildren: Connor Alexander Gates and wife Carley, Julia Adair Gates, Brett Callaghan Adair, her great-grandson Cameron Allen Gates, and many nieces and nephews: Gary Adair and wife Betsy, Jenny Price and husband Travis, Ross Partlow III, and Abbie Mayo and husband Michael.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 609 E Gramman St, Beeville, TX 78102, on June 20 at 10:30 am with a private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, have a chalupa, drink a margarita, eat some cookie dough, or enjoy a meal at Adair Kitchen. Patty would join you if she could.
