Ned Handly

Ned Kinkler Handly, 76, passed away on December 3, 2017. Mr. Handly was born on August 23, 1941, to Patrick and Ellen (Kinkler) Handly in Beeville, Texas. He was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church where he served as leader of the Bible Study classes for years. He was an attorney-at-Law having graduated from the University of Texas with an undergraduate degree and the U. T. Law School. He served as Beeville Municipal Judge, Bee County Judge and was a founder and an original board member of Bee County Western Week. Mr. Handly was an officer in the United States Air Force in the intelligence service. He was a dove hunter, a pipe smoker, a fencer and was known for his famous Dutch oven peach cobbler. He was a theological scholar, a lover of classical music and an admirer of the British monarchy. He was an eloquent speaker and a sought-after master of ceremonies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Handly; and nephew, Keith Handly.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville. Interment will follow at the George West Cemetery in George West, Texas.
Pallbearers will be John Claude Breidenbach, Richard Young, Keith Handly, Marion Williams, Frank Warner, David Dollase, Rick Vestal and Trace Morrill.
