Myrtle Nell (Rosebrock) Bocquet

Myrtle Nell (Rosebrock) Bocquet, 89, of Beeville, Texas, passed away June 27, 2025. She was born September 18, 1935, in Oakville, Texas to her parents John Bernard Rosebrock and Myrtle Nell McKinney. Myrtle married Robert August Bocquet November 27, 1959, at St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas and they made their home in Beeville, Texas for 59 years of loving marriage.

She was a devoted mother and deeply loved her family. Myrtle was active in supporting her children’s sporting events and 4-H projects, and she continued that legacy with her grandchildren by taking them to 4-H and community events. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and was actively involved in the Rio Medio Chapter.

Myrtle was also known for her exceptional cooking, love of gardening, enjoyment of the outdoors and bird watching, and her involvement in ranching and other beloved past times.

She is survived by her son, John W Bocquet; daughter, Laura Bocquet; as well as grandchildren, John R. (Pike) Bocquet and wife Tara, Amanda Pike, Mary August Clapp and husband Ray and Shannon Bocquet; and great-grandchildren, Rhaenys Clapp, Evelyn Clapp and Jack Bocquet.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Lamar James; her sister, Johnnye Jameyson and husband Jack; brothers, Dee Rosebrock and wife Debbie, Bob Rosebrock and wife Linda, Jim Rosebrock and wife Bethany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was predeceased in death by her parents, her beloved husband Robert, and her sisters, Tessie James, Jane Pugh and Mary Garcia.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at St. George Catholic Church in George West. The funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 o’clock that morning with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow in the Gussettville Cemetery.
