Mildred Messer

Mildred L. Messer, 82, of Skidmore, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010. She was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on April 1, 1927, to Christian F. and Augusta "Gussie" M. Huber Merkle. She married John Herbert Messer in Bishop on Feb. 18, 1955. She was a graduate of LVN nursing school in Manistee, Mich., a retired lab technician for PPG Industries, Inc. and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Messer was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Augusta (Huber) Merkle; her husband, John Herbert Messer; one brother, Otto Carl William Merkle; and four sisters, Dorothea Merkle, Charlotte Wolf, Eleanor Laubenthal and Marguerite Bartholomew.
