Mary Helen (Garcia) Lino, 64, a beloved and cherished Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, passed away on February 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Christus Spohn Shoreline, Corpus Christi, leaving behind dear memories and a profound impact on the lives she touched. Born on October 7, 1959, in Kenedy, TX, Mary Helen was a warmhearted individual who devoted her life to caring for others as a home health provider.
Mary Helen's career as a home health provider was a testament to her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to improving the well-being of those in need. Her dedication and selflessness in providing care for her patients earned her the respect and admiration of both her colleagues and the individuals she served.
Mary Helen's family played an essential role in shaping the person she became. She is preceded in death by her father, Mario Johnson Garcia; and mother, Dominga (Pena) Garcia. Alongside them were her three brothers and one sister.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Mary Helen was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was deeply devoted to her family, finding joy and fulfillment in their presence. Mary Helen's memories live on through her daughter; Marivel (Carlos) Cantu; sons, James Lino and John Lino; grandsons, Isaac (Kelsie) Lino and Ivan Cantu; great-grandchildren, Bentley Davis, Lillyanna Lino and Nova Lino; all of Beeville along with numerous nieces and nephews and close friends. Their love and bond will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
In addition, Mary Helen is survived by numerous siblings who shared an unwavering bond with her. Her sisters, Lillie (James) Wood of Houston, Maclovia Matthews (Robert Garmany) of Houston, Gloria White of Alice, Synthia (Odell) Ivy of Sandia and Sylvia Ochoa of Pearland, were not only sisters but also lifelong companions who got the immense pleasure to witness the growth of the person Mary was to become. Similarly, Mauro Garcia Jr of Pasadena and Ramiro (George Quanzer) Garcia of Kingwood stood by Mary Helen as devoted brothers, providing strength, love and protection.
The memory of Mary Helen will forever be carried by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, nurturing nature, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Mary Helen's strong spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones as they navigate life without her physical presence.
To honor and remember Mary Helen's life, a series of solemn services will take place. A visitation will be held at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5 until 7 p.m. A Prayer Service honoring Mary Helen's memory will follow at 6 p.m. during the visitation. On Saturday, February 17, 2024, a funeral service will be conducted at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Cantu, Isaac Lino, Bryan Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Scott Lee Madrigal and Salome Martinez.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ivan Cantu and Bentley Davis
Mary Helen's legacy will continue to thrive through the stories shared by those who knew her best. Her compassionate spirit, unwavering dedication to others, and her unconditional love for her family have left an indelible impact that transcends her time on this earth. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her life was one filled with purpose, love, and immeasurable warmth.
