Marta Garcia

Marta (Lopez) Garcia went in peace to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 13, 2020. A native of Three Rivers, she was residing at Live Oak Nursing Center in George West at the time of her passing at the age of 73.

Marta was born February 11, 1947 in Alice, Texas, to Merced and Juanita (Morales) Lopez. She met the love of her life, Gilbert H. Garcia, and they were united in marriage in June 1987. She was lovingly known for her faith in God, devotion to her family and pride and joy for her granddaughters. Cooking and preparing homemade meals for her family get-togethers was something she loved doing as well as spending quality time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merced and Juanita Lopez; her husband, Gilbert H. Garcia; and a brother, Isaac Lopez.

Left behind to cherish fond memories are her son, Gilbert Garcia of Three Rivers; her daughter, Gilda Ramirez (Trey Alaniz) of Three Rivers; two granddaughters, Dani Marie Ramirez and Ryli Ramirez; two stepsons, Carlos Garcia and Tom (Michelle) Garcia; a stepdaughter, Carrie Montgomery; two sisters, Elena Lopez and Maria (Valentin) Macias; a brother, Merced Lopez Jr. (Sonny); a sister-in-law, Janie Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. at Three Rivers Cemetery with Pastor Valentin G. Macias Sr. officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Macias, Pete Lopez, Adrian Manzano, Trey Alaniz, Solomon Lopez and Robert Puentes.
