Marjorie Dement

Marjorie Dement, 93, passed away June 19, 2017. She was born January 9, 1924, in Orange Grove, Texas, to E. Wallis and Maggie (Gotthardt) Roberts. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and active in the Faith Lutheran Church Women where they all called her “Boss”. She was named Orange Grove May Queen. She worked as a telephone operator, retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Scotten; grandchildren, James Douglas Scotten and Michelle Elaine Scotten. She is survived by two grandsons, Michael (Ann) Scotten of Beeville and Steven (Tamara) Scotten of Beeville; great-grandchildren, James Todd Scotten, Kyle Patrick Scotten, Brody Benavides and Clayton Douglas Scotten. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Church. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
