Margaret Mckennon

Margaret Marie McKennon, 92, of Beeville was called home November 24th, 2017. Waiting for her there were her parents, Allie and Joe Cahill; her sister, Grace Whitley, her brother, Douglas Cahill and her daughter, Dolores Kay Milner. Margaret was born in McNeil, Texas. She met and married Bill McKennon while he was attending pharmacy school at the University of Texas in Austin. Bill worked in pharmacies in Beaumont, El Campo and Victoria before purchasing City Drug in Beeville in 1961. Margaret and Bill worked together in McKennon City Drug for 30 years. She volunteered for many roles, leading Girl Scouts and chaperoning school trips. She was very active in the Soroptimist Club and served as president. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed hosting gatherings of family and friends. She studied painting under Mr. Michaels and created many stained glass pieces.

Margaret is remembered with love by her husband of 69 years, William Marvin McKennon; daughter and son in law, Linda and Paul Eagan of Briarcliff, daughter, Donna McKennon of Wimberley; former son in law, David Milner and his wife, Susan of San Antonio; grandchildren, Andrea Milner of Fort Worth, Aaron Milner and his wife, Melissa of Anchorage AK, Bailey and Mitch Blankenship of Austin; great grandchildren, Alexis Avirett of Fort Worth, Ryan and Avery Milner of Anchorage AK; nephews, Gerald Boese and his wife, Jamie of San Marcos, Michael Boese and his wife, Lauri of Forestville CA and niece, Crystal and husband, Gavin Rouleau of Englewood CO.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful people that were part of Margaret's last several years. Their loving care and devotion allowed her to have years of comfort and helped her transition through her illness with grace.

Visitation will be at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville from 4PM to 6PM on Thursday, Nov. 30th.
The funeral service will be at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home at 10AM on Friday, Dec. 1st. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
