Ludiavena "Tillie" Zavala, 81, of Skidmore, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026.
Ludiavena was born on October 11, 1944, to Anastacio Garcia and Genoveva Parra. She married Jose Zavala on July 10, 1966, in Skidmore, Texas and together they built a loving family.
Ludiavena was a hardworking and caring woman who worked as a nurse assistant at Beeville Memorial Hospital before becoming a private sitter. She later worked at the Skidmore-Tynan Cafeteria, where she eventually retired. She will be remembered for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor and the love she had for her family and pets.
In her spare time, Ludiavena enjoyed birdwatching, shopping with her sister and sewing. She loved watching Steve Harvey, working in her yard, telling jokes and cooking. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and the people she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose Zavala; her grandson, Reynaldo “Rene” Jimenez; and siblings, Ramon Garcia, Richard Garcia, Nick Garcia, Henry Garcia, Alvino Garcia, Leona Sosa, Margarita Morales, Stella Guajardo and Willie Garcia.
She is survived by her children, Jose (Roxanna) Zavala Jr., Jame Zavala, Thelma Zavala and Hilda Zavala; her sister, Avelicia Puga; grandchildren, Ryan Jimenez, Julian Jimenez, Nicholas Romero, Kaylee Trevino, Daniella Zavala and Anna Zavala; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 4 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating at the same location.
Inurnment will be private.
