Linda Kay Clark

Linda Kay Clark, age 68, of George West, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026. She was born on October 7, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Buford and Mary Clark. Linda believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, and she is worshipping and rejoicing with Jesus today.

Linda was a member of the Tuloso-Midway High School Bicentennial Class of 1976, who just celebrated their 50th reunion this summer. After high school, Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction both from Corpus Christi State University.

Linda began her teaching career at Tuloso-Midway ISD, Corpus Christi, Texas. After her official first year of teaching, Miss Clark moved to George West, Texas and taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and third grade at George West Primary School. She finished out her educational career by teaching technology classes at George West Junior High for 23 years. As an educator, Miss Clark poured into her students and taught students whose ages ranged from 3 years old to 14 years, and she retired from George West ISD in 2016 after a total of 36 successful years in education.

Service was important to Linda, and she demonstrated that core value by volunteering, and eventually working as a staff member, at Camp Zephyr on Lake Corpus Christi, volunteering at George West Storyfest in its foundational years, and working in extra-curricular activities including the National Junior Honor Society and the “highly coveted” concession stand during games at the George West Junior High gym. Linda also taught in the Live Oak County Adult Literacy Program aiding several adults as they learned to read.

Linda enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, collecting art, and she loved to travel. Special memories for Miss Clark were the times she took students to Washington DC and where she got to expose much of our nation’s history to some who had never even been out of George West. She will be remembered for her acts of kindness, service, gifts of friendship, and for being a devoted prayer warrior for her friends.

For all of her life, Linda trusted Jesus by faith. Today, she is with the Savior she loved and believed in, seeing Him face to face and experiencing the joy of God's promises fulfilled.

Preceding Linda in death were her parents, Buford and Mary Clark; a sister, Donna Barnett; and a nephew, Stacy Ware.

Linda is survived by her sister, Marion Foster; her brother-in-law, Jim Foster; as well as several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joe Lichenberger, Jim Foster, Josh Randow, Shawn Ware, Bryan Ware, and Jason Werner.

With hearts touched by sorrow and gratitude for Linda, we will celebrate her life with a visitation to be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm with Robin Sellman officiating. The family has planned a private burial service on Saturday.
