Lawrence “Larry” Alan Valigura, 77, beloved husband of Hettie (Ryan) Valigura, passed away peacefully at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, on May 10, 2025.

Larry was born June 5, 1947, in Austin, Texas to Victor John Valigura and Ida Mozelle (Ross) Valigura. He was 1965 graduate of McCallum High School in Austin and married his sweetheart, Hettie Ryan, on July 29, 2003 in Austin.

He dedicated 32 years of his life to the United States Customs Service Department of the Treasury, where he served with unwavering commitment and integrity. His contributions to the U.S. Customs Government reflected not only his dedication to his work but also his profound sense of duty to his country. In addition, Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, embracing the values of service and sacrifice that characterized his life.

Larry enjoyed fishing with his wife on the ICW in Corpus Christi and watching Fox News.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Ida Valigura.

Larry leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Hettie (Ryan) Valigura, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He was a cherished father to Robin (Nate) Shifflett, Carly (Alan) West, Carrie (Scott) Lopez, Michelle (Garland) Berry, Chad (Kristine) Stautzenberger and Shawn Stautzenberger; as well as a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters. Among his close companions, lifelong friend Roger Knowles remained a significant part of his life, creating a bond that lasted since childhood.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roger Knowles, Chad Stautzenberger, Dillon Stautzenberger, Nathan Shifflett, Drew Shifflett and Gary Bohac.
