Karen Jeanne Weber

Karen Jeanne (Mellott) Weber, 81, born July 28, 1942, in Oak Park, Illinois, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2024, at her home in Beeville, Texas with her beloved husband by her side.

Karen was born to George Mellott and Audrey (Thorsen) Mellott and was a 1960 graduate of West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois. She continued her education and realized her dream of becoming a nurse by receiving a degree as an RN in 1967 and later received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She pursued her career and earned her master’s in nursing education degree where she had the privilege of working at MMC and teaching the LVN and BSN programs at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. After a fulfilling 30-plus nursing career, Karen retired in June 2004.

Karen married the love of her life, William Weber, on October 2, 1964, in Aurora, Illinois. The couple made their home in Portland, Texas in July 1969 and finally moved to Beeville in September 1992. She enjoyed country living especially spending time at their ranch near Goliad. She also loved her pet dogs and watching wildlife.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Audrey Mellott.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, William Weber of Beeville; and her four-legged companions, Buddy and Bella.
