John Nicholson

John F. Nicholson II, 82, of Beeville, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011. Mr. Nicholson was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Belmont, Mass., to John F. and Ruth (Donaldson) Nicholson. He married Josephine Hoefer and was a math teacher at Coastal Bend College and co-owner of Ruth Davis Shoppe. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, John Nicholson III. Survivors include two daughters, Leigh Nicholson-Finn of Beeville and Jody (David) Holt of Ponte Verde Beach, Fla.; a son, Bruce Nicholson of Houston; five grandchildren, Megan Finn, Trisha Nichole Hooper, Denton Holt, Shawna Buffum and John "Nikki" Nicholson IV; and a sister, Anne Nicholson of Houston. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at First Christian Church with Rev. Geraldine Huckman officiating.
