JoAnn Louise Hadwin, a cherished member of the Beeville community and a beloved artist, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in her hometown of Beeville, Texas. Born on April 18, 1935, in Beeville, JoAnn’s life was marked by dedication to her family, her community, and her many professional endeavors.
JoAnn was a high school graduate who pursued a career reflecting her versatile talents and strong work ethic. She worked as a jeweler at Fizer’s, demonstrating precision and creativity, and later became store manager at Worthan’s, where she earned respect for her leadership and dedication. In her later years, JoAnn continued her commitment to public service as Deputy Clerk at the Bee County Tax Office, contributing to the smooth administration of county affairs with diligence and care.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, JoAnn was an active member of the Bee County Historical Society, supporting the preservation and celebration of local heritage. Her artistic gifts were a cherished part of her identity, bringing beauty and creativity to those around her.
JoAnn’s legacy is reflected in her loving family and deep connections. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Hadwin; her parents, Herbert Ernest Levermann and Ella J. Buehring Levermann; her son, Warren G. (Jerry) Guy Jr.; her sister, Lucille Gary; her brother, Herbert Levermann Jr.; her grandson, Eric James Leroy Hadwin; and her great-grandson, Kaidin James Hart.
She is survived by her devoted children: Brian Bronel Hadwin (Nannette), Denice Daron Hadwin, Ronnie Renee Hadwin Wuensche (Stephen), and Sidney Shawn Hadwin (Amy). She is also survived by her sister, Willadene Faulkner, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Guy. Her legacy lives on through her treasured grandchildren: Jeremy Hadwin (Tabitha), Ryan Hadwin (Jennifer), Mandy Mendiola, Marshall Hadwin, Montgomery Wuensche, Pierson Wuensche, Felicia Cargill (Craig), Ashley Nicole Hancock (Tim), David Maldonado, and Sidney Shay Hadwin. She was a proud great-grandmother to Sheyanne Hamby (Harley), Brianna Hadwin, Haley Marie Johnson (Lorenzo), Hailey Grace Hadwin, Noah Mendiola, Samuel Longoria, Zoey Longoria, Emma Terry, Peyton Terry, JayLynn Hancock, Nolan Hancock, Lanora Johnson, Loren Johnson, Harper Hadwin, and Brian Bronel Hadwin II.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville, Texas.
A funeral service honoring JoAnn’s life will be held at New Life Church in Beeville, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with Pastor Jesse Berthold officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hadwin, Shawn Hadwin, Stephen Wuensche, Montgomery Wuensche, Jeremy Hadwin, Ryan Hadwin, Tim Hancock, and Noah Mendiola.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pierson Wuensche, Brian Bronell II Hadwin, Vince Johnson, Shelby Lewis, Craig Cargill, David Maldonado, and Marshall Hadwin.
JoAnn Louise Hadwin’s life was one of service, creativity, and devotion to her family and community. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
