Jimmy Larry Redding, 80, of George West, Texas, passed away on March 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 26, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Willie Dee and Vera Dee Redding.

Larry was a lifelong resident of George West, where he built a life rooted in family & hard work. On May 30, 1970, he married the love of his life Eulane Redding. He was insistent that she graduate high school before they married. She graduated on Thursday and they got married on Saturday. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

Larry was a jack of all trades but spent many years farming and ranching alongside his dad, a way of life he deeply valued. He also drove a cattle truck, earning the handle “White Tornado,” a testament to his strong work ethic and reputation on the road. A proud graduate of George West High School, Class of 1964, Larry was part of the 1963 football team that made it to the state level. He cherished the lifelong friendships formed during those years, and he looked forward to the annual gatherings where teammates shared stories and memories.

In his spare time, Larry had a passion for woodworking. He crafted many cherished pieces for his family, including wahoo boards, card holders, hat racks, custom shelves, and countless other handmade items that will be treasured for generations. Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hardworking spirit, and the legacy he leaves behind in the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Dee and Vera Dee Redding; a brother, Thomas Wayne Redding; and a sister, Shirley Redding.

Larry is survived by two sisters, Vera Mae Redding and Mary Lee (JR) Bludau; two brothers, Mike (Cheryl) Redding and Carl (Wannetta) Redding; his loving wife, Eulane Redding; three children, Laura Stuart, Jamie (Wesley) Harris, and Jimmy Dale (Lexie) Redding. He was a proud grandfather to William Tanner Stuart, Niaya Hayslip, Ina Hayslip, Skylar Montemayor, Dequoyah Hayslip, Tyra Stuart, Carli Redding, Corri Gonzales, and Colt Redding. Also blessed with great-grandchildren, Blane Stuart, RaeLynn Stuart, Kendelia Holsten, Ashley Stuart, Blakely Holsten, Ensley Redding, Mason Stuart, Dean Welch, and Brixton Montemayor.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Oakville Baptist Church in Oakville followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Medina officiating.
