Jaxen Lee Mick

Jaxen Lee Mick, 16, a beloved young soul, passed away tragically on April 6, 2025, at his home in Mathis, Texas. He was a student at Mathis ISD.

Jaxen was born April 28, 2008, in Beeville to Dennis Mick and Shanda Brown. He brought joy and light to everyone around him with his loving and kind nature. His love for animals reflected his gentleness, and he often brought joy to others with his healing hugs. Jaxen was actively involved in a Dungeons and Dragons group. As a passionate gamer, he found great joy in playing video games, especially Minecraft. He loved classic rock music and enjoyed being creative with Legos. Jaxen also participated in the theater production, "Miracle on Calabasa St.," showcasing his talent and enthusiasm for the arts.

Left behind to mourn the passing of their beloved son are his parents, Dennis Mick and Shanda Brown, along with his brothers and sister, Kaden Mick, Maralynn Mick and Liam Brown. He will be deeply missed by his grandparents, Dianna Cole and Jack Parsons, Bill and Trina Mick and Barb Burden and Jim Burden.

Jaxen's extended family includes his aunts, Courtney Brown, Emilee Brown, Heather Mick and Abby Mick, as well as his many cousins, Nathaniel Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, Zaylie Hernandez, Matthew Hernandez, Amaya Courvier, Jadeann Bazan, Gavin Courvier, Leevi Brown, Salem Brown, Hannah Mick, Paige Brown, Jesse Bierwirth, Addison Brown, Autumn Brown, Everliegh Brown, Silas Brown and Oakley Brown.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Jesse Lewis Brown and Leif Mick; his cousin, Alleah Hernandez; and his grandparents, Lewis Eldon Brown and Phyllis Jackson.

Though his time here was far too short, Jaxen Lee Mick will be remembered for his genuine spirit, warmth and the love he shared with all who knew him. His loving presence, sweet disposition and enduring spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at First Christian Church in Pettus.
