James Pittman

JW "Buddy" Pittman, 81, of Beeville, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. Mr. Pittman was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Lockhart to Sara Ellis Shehan and Roy William Pittman. He served in the U.S. Army and married Evelyn Barta in Beeville on July 14, 1961. He was retired from the telephone company, working for Southwestern Bell and AT&T as a repairman. He was a member of the VFW Post #9170, American Legion Post #274 and the Masonic Lodge #261. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Pittman of Beeville; children, James (Tabatha) Pittman, Susan (Robert) Harrison and Roger Pittman, all of Beeville; two grandchildren, Wade and Payton Pittman; four sisters, Dorothy Minor, Jeannie (Harold) Moore, Lou (Charles) Millard, all of Round Rock, and Cora Bell Barnes of Austin; and a brother, Bruce Pittman of Grapevine. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Taylor officiating.
