Irene Mumme-Katzfey 1916 - 2017

Irene Mumme-Katzfey died August 28, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Irene was a long-time resident of George West, Texas where she and husband, AC Edward Mumme owned and operated Acme Butane Co. After AC's death, Irene married Leonard J. Katzfey in 1969, and they were married until his death in 2002.

Irene was always looking forward to the next adventure and lived a long and happy life, during which she was a beautician and salon operator, an owner of an LPG distributorship, an artist, and an exercise instructor for seniors. Irene was preceded in death by sisters Selma Waida, Edna Johnson, and Pearl Fischer, and brothers Bill Fischer, Alec Fischer, and Walter Fischer.

Irene is survived by her loving son, Michael E. Mumme, and wife, Carol, of San Antonio and grandson, The Rev. Michael C. Mumme, of Austin. Graveside services at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1, at Beeville Memorial Park.
