Grady Harrison, Jr.

Grady Henry Harrison Jr., 85, of Beeville, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. Mr. Harrison was born April 28, 1927, in San Antonio to Ruth (Watson) and Grady H. Harrison Sr. He served in the Army Air Corps and married Betty Ford in Beeville on Sept. 10, 1948. He was a photographer by profession and a Methodist. He worked for the Beeville Bee-Picayune for 45 and a half years as an independent photographer and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Ruth Harrison; a sister, Doris Peters; and her husband, Paul. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Harrison of Beeville; a son, Reggie Harrison of Bastrop; a brother, Ellis (Blanca) Harrison of San Antonio; a brother-in-law, Fred (Joan) Ford of Clareville; a sister-in-law, Ella Coffman of Victoria; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry McRorey officiating. Pallbearers were Alex Kibler, Buddy Hardy, John West, John Kennedy and Robert Ford.
