Georgia Ross

Georgia Adele Etheridge Ross, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. She was born June 24, 1917, in Omaha, Neb., to Milton V. and Lillian O. DeWitt Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ernest "Bug" Etheridge and Charlie Ross; one daughter, Barbara Henley; and three sisters, Mae Ballard, Marguerite Adams and Pauline Daugherty. Survivors include one son-in-law, David Henley of Beeville; grandchildren, Jeffery (Eileen) Henley, Diana (Amanda) Henley, Austin Henley and Clay Henley; caregiver and friend, Jan Warner of Fredericksburg; one brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today) at 2 p.m., also at Galloway and Sons chapel. Chaplain Robert Styers will officiate and music will be provided by organist Mary Ellen Thoms. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Henley, Diana Henley, Austin Henley and Clay Henley. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ballard, Larry Carpenter, John Hill, Bennie Adams and members of "The February Group." Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Christian Educational Fund or the charity of one's choice.
