Eva Lopez

Eva E. Lopez, 85, of George West, Texas, went in peace to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Eva was born August 29, 1935, in Coahuila, Mexico, to Mr. Deleon and Esther Martinez. She married Matias Z. Lopez on November 2, 1952 in Corpus Christi. She was a woman of firm belief in the Catholic faith. She loved playing bingo, was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles but her favorite pastime was camping and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Martinez; her husband, Matias Lopez; a brother, Rogelio Martinez; and a sister, Linda Guel.

Survivors include two daughters, Blanca (Albert) Vargas and Joyce (Randy) Garcia, both of George West; two brothers, Ruben (Lupe) Martinez of San Jose, California and David Martinez of George West; a sister, Dora (Elmo) Soliz of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Claudia Foster, Daniella Vargas and Albert Vargas, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Evangelina West and Bobby Lee Foster Jr.; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow at the St. George Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Albert Vargas, Jr., Abel Perez, Vince Lopez, Johnny Berlanga, Juan Martinez, Joe Lopez and Max Vasquez Jr.
