Eulalie Williams

Eulalie Ima Williams (Nanny) of La Vernia, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the age of 96.
She was born on May 2, 1922 in Tynan, Texas to Robert Baker Jeffrey and Cassie Ada Tillman. She married Wiley E. Williams Sr. on May 7, 1940. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Beeville, then joined First Baptist Church of La Vernia. During her life time she owned numerous businesses in and around Beeville including the Mineral General Store, Williams' Palace and Williams' Ice Cream Parlor. She also managed the Auction Barn Café for a number of years. She continued to cook after she sold her restaurants making chicken and dumplings, homemade rolls, cobblers, pies and cookies. Even after going to the nursing home, she continued to cook as "therapy." She made numerous pies and cookies for the residents and staff at Country Care Manor in La Vernia. Not only did she love to cook, she also loved to deer hunt with her family and travel to Coushatta to play the slots. You could not keep her away from those slots or away from the deer lease.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn (Bobby) Sumner, Bobbie (Don) Arnold, Mary Rhea (Steven) Day and two sons, James (Vici) Williams and Wiley "Butch" (Debbie) Williams, Jr., 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 409 N. Tyler Street, Beeville, Texas, with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Bigler, Ron Bigler, Glen Cowey, Gene Day, Scott Selvidge and Christopher Sumner.
