Estiline Maguglin

Estiline Maguglin was born to Everett and Olive Mae Cox on November 23, 1923, and went home to be with her Lord on November 15, 2017, a week shy of her 94th birthday. In between, she lived her life with a lot of joy and cared for many with a lot of love.

Estiline grew up a Texas girl surrounded by her beloved brothers and sisters, Otto, Jewel, Dewey, Christine, Oscar, Doris, and Fred left this world before her. Etta, Betty, and Jerry are the living members of the original Cox clan. She loved to tell stories about her childhood. Her face would light up as she described her early life. Her grandchildren heard all about Otto being a POW during WWII. Estiline loved them all and was so proud to be their sister.

During WWII, Estiline served her country in The United States Army/Air Force. She thoroughly enjoyed this time in her life and was just talking about the people she met and places she saw. In fact, while talking about the other ladies with whom she lived and trained during her time with the Army, she said " There were never any hard feelings between us, unless you wanted them." That is an amazing statement, but that was how she lived her life. No drama. Just happy and content with where she was and who she was with.

After caring for her first husband, Weldon Bell, until his death, Estiline met the man with whom she would live the rest of her life. Verlon Maguglin, we know him as Pop, was a farmer in Live Oak County when he met Estiline. She came into our family, and it made complete sense. She made our Pop so happy, and he did the same for her. Both were completely content living a simple life on the farm. Pop would bring in the vegetables he grew to Estiline, and she would cook them up. And oh, could she cook! Her black-eyed peas were the best, and she could cook greens in such a way that even the grandkids would want them! Twice a year, on Pop's birthday and New Year's Day, Pop and Estiline opened their home to the family to eat, visit and celebrate. Lots of games were played, and the group grew as the grandkids married and began having families of their own.

When Estiline married Verlon, she inherited 3 children - Charlotte, Ricky, and Marley. With them came in-laws, Mack and Cindy, and some grandchildren. Estiline loved us all as if we were her own...because we were. During her many years with Pop, Estiline celebrated many a birthday, wedding, and baby being born. There were sad times too. We lost our beloved Aunt Cindy in 1995, and the baby of the children, our Uncle Marley, passed away in January of 1997. These were very hard times for our family, and Estiline helped love us through them. We also want to acknowledge the passing of Estiline's cherished niece, Sherrie Connett. Sherrie played a huge part in introducing Verlon and Estiline, and her passing was a sad time in Estiline's life.

Our family was blessed beyond measure when God brought Estiline to us. We are so grateful to Him for the years we had with her, and we look forward to the day when we will see her again.
