Elodia (Mata) Dominguez, 92, of Quitman, Texas, formerly of Beeville, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Elodia was born on June 27, 1933, in Beeville, Texas, to Luis and Victoria (Santellana) Mata. She was a catholic and a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Throughout her life, Elodia dedicated herself to the food service industry, tirelessly working to provide for her family and instilling important values of hard work and dedication in her children. Her contributions to her community and the lives of those around her will remain a testament to her caring spirit.
Elodia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose Maria Dominguez; two sons, Abraham Dominguez and Ruben Dominguez; son-in-law Joel Madrigal; two grandchildren, Jose Maria Trevino and Rosita Trevino; as well as her three sisters, Elena Grimaldo, Sylviana Aguirre, and Dominga Cardenas; and two brothers, Moises Mata and Nicanor Mata.
Elodia is survived by her loving children: Rosita Madrigal, Diana Dominguez, Elena (Deanna) Perez, and Elizabeth (Thomas) Suniga. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory and love forward in their lives.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6 o’clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday February 25, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jacob Valayath officiating.
Pallbearers will be Saxon Rodriguez, Pablito Arredondo, Francisco Trevino Jr., Francisco Trevino III, Andrew Trevino, and Daniel Trevino.
