Elizabeth Ann LeBlanc, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Swinney Switch, Texas December 20, 2025, lovingly surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth was born November 10, 1934, in St. Martinville, Louisiana, to J. Andre Bienvenu and Bibiane (Cormier) Bienvenu. She was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from SLI of Lafayette College. Her career as a grocery store clerk allowed her to connect with many people, and she was known for her warm smile and genuine care for the customers she served. She touched the lives of many throughout her life with her kindness, loving spirit and dedication to family. A devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis, Elizabeth was deeply involved in her church community and took pride in her strong faith. She loved her family, gardening, wildflowers and eating crawfish.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, Andre Bienvenu Jr.; two sisters, Lilly Harper and Sigrid Taraldsen; and a son, Chris Mark LeBlanc.
Left behind to cherish fond memories include her five beloved children, Allen (Judy) LeBlanc, Liz (Byron) Jones, Robert (Jan) LeBlanc, Anita (Ken) Bowles and Paul LeBlanc. She also leaves behind an incredible legacy through her 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren who will remember her with love and affection.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis with a Rosary to be recited at 12 o’clock. The funeral Mass celebration will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Father Francis Medanki officiating.
Pallbearers will be Derek LeBlanc, Justin Anderson, Terry Jones, Michael LeBlanc, Robert LeBlanc, Andrew Bowles and Jackson LeBlanc.
An inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date at St. Martinville, Louisiana.
