Elisa Diane Roberts Tindol

Elisa Diane Roberts Tindol passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her children, October 28, 2026. Lisa was born in Beeville, Texas, on January 5, 1949, to John Bryson & Marjorie Aleene (McNeill) Roberts.

Lisa had a beautiful childhood in Beeville, playing with her sister, Marji, cousins, friends, and a variety of “pets” in their family’s gardens. Much of the family lived close to one another, on the same block, allowing ample space for creativity and play! This is where her love of the outdoors, animals, and creativity was fostered and flourished.

As Lisa grew, so did her interests. She joined many clubs such as national honors society, her beloved Brownie group, American Field Service, Thespian Troupe, who’s who, etc. She enjoyed playing piano, sailing, theater, and cheerleading. She was elected sweetheart of Latin Club and most beautiful to name a few.

What Lisa wanted most was to be a mom…. She married Ron Coldeway in 1969. They married and began their family journey. Lisa shared her love for animals, outdoors, music, water & winter sports, and family with her children, her grandchildren and friends.

She was a music teacher at “the Little Red School house” for the St. Phillip’s Episcopal School, Brownie troop leader, head critter adopter, camp - travel director extraordinaire, fearless sailor, excellent skier, and Ruffy adventure creator, narrator, entertainer and sleep inducer. Most importantly and joyfully, a dedicated mother and grandmother.

The warmth, charm, intelligence and creativity that Lisa possessed made her a joy to be around. In her early years, she was part of the Beeville “welcoming committee” and continued being involved with many clubs, such as, Beta, Rosetta, Pan American Round Table, Bridge Groups, The Columbus fleet (a sailor group out of Corpus Christi; one of the highlights of her life), Served on the Alter guild and women’s group at St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church, DAR-Daughters of the American Revolution, and DRT- Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Creating beautiful programs for parties, decorating parties & homes, and song writing were also incredible talents that Lisa shared with others throughout her life.

Many happy years were spent running the “ladies’ department” in her family’s store, Robert’s & McKenzie’s, alongside her mother, “Marji”. Lisa retired from BCC (CBC) where she enjoyed organizing, running, growing, and decorating the bookstore, while at the same time, positively touching many lives! As it turns out, she also adopted more than critters, she adopted people!

Lisa later married J.D. Tindol and they continued to enjoy traveling and camping the world over. As per Lisa, they always had a creative project to improve and or beautify something. Fishing, boating, and family time remained at the forefront of this time.

Later in her years, after her move to the Bellville- Brenham area, she was able to spend more time visiting her favorite places; the ranch and the beach enjoying God’s creations with her children and grandchildren. Lisa also became an amateur dolphin communicator during her long visits to the beach. Everywhere she went, she practiced her dessert sampling and critiquing skills…

Lisa’s life has been one full of warmth, tenderness, inclusiveness, kindness, and grace. She loved and was loved by her friends. She adored and was adored by her children and grandchildren. We miss her deeply but are thrilled for her new happiness and wholeness with Christ our Lord and Savior.

Lisa is survived by her son, Justin Coldeway (Shannon), her daughter, Kristen Evons (“Bear”), her five grandchildren, Hudson Wallace (Cydni), Peyton Russell, Davis Coldeway, Mayson Russell, Reese Coldeway and her first great grandchild to come, baby girl Wallace.
