E.J. New

E.J. “Bubba” New, 86, of Beeville, Texas passed away on November 5, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1938 to Gentry and Addie (Rhodes) New in Mineral, Texas.

Bubba was a well-known pipeline welder and a member of the Church of Christ in Beeville. He married Donice Ashley on May 30, 1963 in Beeville. Bubba lived a colorful life and enjoyed drinking coffee and telling stories to friends and fellow pipeline welders.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Donice New; his parents, Gentry and Addie New; and a sister, Adele “Sissy” Salmon. 

Bubba is survived by a son, Cliff (Eva) New; and two daughters, Connie Sue (David) Gomez and Starla Kemple.

A burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 at Mineral Cemetery in Mineral, Texas. His stories will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
