Douglas Glen Hardy, 58, passed onto his Heavenly Home on February 17, 2017. He was born to Jane (Reagan) and Ronald “Buddy” Hardy on February 7, 1959. He grew up in Beeville where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was involved in Boy Scouts and baseball in his younger years. As he progressed to high school, he found a love for dirt bikes and fast cars. Regardless of age he loved camping. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and boating enthusiast. Doug loved to cook for family and friends. He also enjoyed cook offs whether it was Chili or Barbecue. He loved being Papa to his grandbabies. He was a former member of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department, Bee County Western Week, Bee County Area Go Texans, and Kiwanis Club.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Reagan Glen Hardy; paternal grandparents, G. Clifford Hardy and Madge Hardy; maternal grandparents, Charles Murray and Nannie Reagan.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Karianne (Bobby) Schaefer and Janalynn Hardy of Beeville; his parents, Ronald “Buddy” and Jane Hardy; sister, Susan Hardy Heard; nephew, Taylor (Jennifer) Heard; and niece, Mairin Heard. Also his much loved granddaughter and grandson, Stellar and Styder Schaefer; his friend and mother of his children, Roxane DeSpain Hardy; and many numerous loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Darell Reagan, Taylor Heard, Mark Davis, Kenny Hatfield, Matt Lansford, Paul Heard, David Daughters, and Jim Kennedy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Garza, Bobby Schaefer, Stephen Reagan, Bill Taylor, Raymond Hall, John Rader, Grady “Sam” Hogue, Fritz Scotten, David Miller, and all of his special friends that he loved and cared for so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at First National Bank in Beeville for Hardy expenses.
