David Nicholson

David L. Nicholson, 83, of George West, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at the Live Oak Nursing Center.

David was born January 27, 1940, in Fort Worth to Lawton and Dorothy (Swinney) Nicholson. He was a graduate of Terrell High School and went on to earn a master’s degree from Texas Tech University. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was employed with Live Oak County as a health inspector. He enjoyed marathons in his early years, fishing and taking care of his horses and other beloved animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton and Dorothy Nicholson; grandparents, Boss and Bess Nicholson; and a son, Thomas David Nicholson.

Survivors include his wife, Marieta (Williams) Nicholson of San Antonio; and his daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Monty Ewing of Burleson.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, October 13, in the George West Cemetery with Pastor Samuel Blanco officiating.
