Clara Ann (Woodlee) Cruz

Clara Ann (Woodlee) Cruz, 70, of George West, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in a care facility in Harlingen, Texas.

Clara was born to Hollis and Janie Woodlee on January 23, 1953 in Refugio, Texas. She married Robert Cruz, Sr. on May 29, 1993 in George West, Texas. She devoted the majority of her life caring for others in nursing homes and as a Home Health Provider. Her greatest joy was her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with family animals and loved fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Janie Woodlee; sisters, Mabel Woodlee, Audrey Kohles and Linda Woodlee; brothers, Charles “Peewee” Woodlee and Hollis Woodlee; and stepdaughter, Rebecca “Becky” Cruz.

Clara is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert G. Cruz, Sr. of George West; daughters, Roxanne (John) Kelly of Canyon, Amanda (Daryl) Smith of San Angelo, Belinda (Joe) Afyounizaden of Houston, Annie (Juan) Lopez of Orange Grove and Alice Morrow of Conroe; grandchildren, Riley Kelly Baker, Haley Kelly Dubois, Nathan Kelly and Sydney Smith; step-grandchildren, Rosie Soliz, Gabriel Soliz, Sean Guevara, Brett Morrow and Kellsi Morrow; great-grandsons, Oliver Baker and Sawyer Baker; sisters, Marilyn Woodlee, Patricia Woodlee, Shirley Woodlee and Margaret Woodlee Clough; and brothers, David (Lesa) Woodlee, Robert (Cassie) Woodlee and Roy Otto (Matiana) Woodlee.

Clara will be greatly missed by numerous extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West.
