Chester Zimmerman

Chester "Don" Zimmerman, 81, of Rockport, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

Mr. Zimmerman was born September 12, 1937, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Chester Howard and Florence (Strelecki) Zimmerman. He married Bobby Staples in Rockport on December 23, 1977. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was owner/operator for 30 years of Bea's Bait Stand in Rockport. He was a Christian and loved watching football.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Bobby Zimmerman of Beeville; three daughters, Melissa Ledford of Beeville, Tanna (Billy) Strong of North Carolina and Donna (Jimmy) Qualls of Fort Worth; one sister, Linda (Ed) Blackburn of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Cody Morales and Emily Morales, both of Rockport, Alex Dowd of Temple, Brittany Thompson of Kansas City, Baily Strong and Tabitha Strong, both of North Carolina and Lindsey Qualls of Fort Worth; and a great-grandchild, Braidyn Thompson of Kansas City.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
