Cheryl Lynn Kopplin Liska, 73, of Three Rivers, Texas passed away on August 19, 2026.
Cheryl was born on April 11, 1953, in Three Rivers, Texas to Hilbert Henry Kopplin and Barbara Jean Wolff Kopplin. She was baptized on August 16, 1953, at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and was confirmed on May 14, 1967. She married Albert James Liska on May 10, 1975, in Three Rivers, Texas at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Cheryl devoted 31 years to elementary education, where she found great joy in teaching children how to read and write. She was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association and was involved in several organizations throughout her life. Cheryl was a lifetime member of the Three Rivers 4-H Club, Ray Point Community Center, Catholic Daughters, Our Savior Lutheran Church, and St. George Catholic Church. She was also active in livestock judging teams across South Texas, the Cattle Women’s Association, and she was an honorary FFA member.
Cheryl enjoyed checking cattle, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved showing livestock and spreading joy to the children she taught. Her family was the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Hilbert Henry Kopplin and Barbara Jean Wolff Kopplin; her brother, Rocky Glenn Kopplin; and her great-niece, Ella Faith Lee.
Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 51 years, Albert James Liska; her daughter, Julie Ann Liska Walker (Travis); her sons, James Lyn Liska (Shelley) and Jordan Russell Liska (Lynnette); and her grandchildren, Dannika Marie Walker, Bayleigh Grace Walker, Heidi Jean Liska, Hunter James Liska, Hank Joseph Liska, and August James Liska.
Cheryl is also survived by her siblings, Donna Mills (Glen), Audrey Kopplin, Nancy Lee (Richard), Randy Kopplin (Tammy), Warren Kopplin (Haley), Crystal Desselle (Jason), and Tracy Favor (Dustin); her nieces and nephews, Deanna Hughes, Brandon Mills (Beverly), Miranda Wilbur, Brady Lee (Kelsi), Micah Wilbur (Jessica), Hayden Kopplin (Andrew), Holly Kopplin, Reagan Kopplin (Cyley), Bryce Favor, Sadie Conn (Brandon), Kyndal Kopplin, and Taten Kopplin. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Our Savior Lutheran Church. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Father Romeo officiating.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Assistant Minister Darren Pullin officiating. Burial will follow at Ray Point Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Mills, Micah Wilbur, Hayden Kopplin, Brady Lee, Reagan Kopplin, Bryce Favor, Taten Kopplin, Hunter Liska, Hank Liska, and August Liska.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Jambers, Tom Jambers, Mac Johanson, Tim Wieding, Randy Sikes, and Larry Sikes.
