Charlotte Merkel

Charlotte Ann (Vander Stucken) Merkel of Beeville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at the age of 75.
Mrs. Merkel was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Felix and Louise (Byrd) Vander Stucken. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, painting, carpentry and raising Dachshunds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Duane Crews; second husband, Gary Merkel; and a granddaughter, Charis D'Ann Blaschke.
Charlotte is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Clint) Adams of Hebbronville, Susan (Mark) Morris of Normanna and Chiara (Calvin) Blaschke of Three Rivers; a sister, Carol (Tommy) Goggans of Granbury; and a brother, Eugene "Bubba" (Anita) Vander Stucken of Portland.
She was also blessed with five grandchildren, Brooke (Anselmo) Villareal of Killeen, Brittney (Steven) Zuehlke of Thorndale, Mandy (Craig) Becker of Normanna, Colten Morris of Calallen and Corey (Morgan) Blaschke of Tilden; and eight great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
