Caroyl Jane Green

Caroyl Jane Green, 78, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. She was born on December 13, 1947, in Brownfield, Texas, to Raymond and Mary Martin Green.

Caroyl graduated from Brownfield High School in 1965 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University in Canyon in 1969. Following graduation, she moved to San Antonio, where she dedicated her life to education and positively impacted countless students throughout her teaching career. Her passion for learning and commitment to her profession led her to earn two master’s degrees from The University of Texas at San Antonio: a Master of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in School Curriculum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Martin Green; and her brothers, Pete Green and Lawrence Green.

Caroyl is survived by her niece, Penny Green-Rios and husband, Jason, of Beeville; her great-niece, Devyn; her brother, Pat Green and wife, Adana, of Tatum; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, Caroyl requested that memorial donations be made to the Texas 4-H Foundation for Volunteer Training, P.O. Box 11020, College Station, Texas 77842.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date in Terry County.
